Mt. Hood Meadows will kick off the season with preview days this holiday weekend. Meadows is prepping the Buttercup, Easy Rider and Daisy chairlifts, along with the Ballroom Carpet. The lifts are scheduled from 9 AM - 4 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday and are able to run in part due to the resort’s snow harvesting efforts.
Resort V.P. of Sales and Marketing Dave Tragethon says, “We are stoked to be able to offer some early season turns for our passholders and guests this holiday weekend. We are grateful for the storm and for our team’s focused efforts to get open. This snow is uncharacteristically light, so while it’s not the best for base building, with the cold temperatures we’ll have some delightful powdery conditions to enjoy.” It is early season conditions and skiers and snowboarders should be aware of unmarked obstacles.
The storm which arrived Sunday evening has dropped 28 inches of snow at Meadows, including 17 inches in the last 24 hours. Meadows crews have been building up the ramps at the lower lifts in advance of the preview days. Lift tickets will be dynamically priced starting at $49 when purchased online in advance for the preview days.

We will offer adult and children’s lessons, Day Care and equipment rentals - those can be reserved and paid for in advance online as well. Passholder services will be open by 8 AM for those purchasing or fulfilling their season passes, and the Higher Grounds coffee shop, Schuss Grill, Alpenstube and Fresh Tracks restaurants will be open. Meadows award winning Parks Crew will have some rails set for freestyle riding. Meadows retail shops Outer Limits Sports and the High Performance Center will be open. This is a great time to drop off equipment for your early season tune at the HPC.
The Mountain team will evaluate whether any additional lifts or terrain can be opened over the weekend, and whether Meadows will continue to operate daily after the weekend. Updates will be posted on the resort conditions page.
