That is the big question on everyone’s mind - including our team. We are all anxiously awaiting the falling of snowflakes, hopefully by the millions. The current forecast is promising, with snowflakes in the window through Wednesday. It looks like Monday should bring the greatest amount of snow - maybe a half a foot or so, but this is definitely worth watching. These early storms tend to roll in and pause - and such a hesitation could easily turn into a foot or two.
We will rev up our snow harvesting operations, including the two new dump beds we built and have attached to snow cats. We plan on putting them to good use to build up our base area lift ramps with the potential for some preview days over the Thanksgiving weekend. While we would love to move right into the season, it is all dependent on snow accumulation, explains General Manager Greg Pack, “As in years past should we receive only enough snow to open limited terrain we will treat it as a preview weekend and close during the week. It’s all speculative until how much snow we get but we will continue to update our conditions page and snow phones as the storm progresses and it becomes clearer what terrain would be open.”
So - do your snow dances and get all your chores out of the way. The season will be starting soon!
