Mt. Hood Meadows Opens Friday

Categories: Faces of Meadows Guest Connection Weather Blog

General Manager Greg Pack Welcomes You to Opening Day

Mt. Hood Meadows will open the season Friday with four lifts on a 17 inch natural base, supplemented by snow harvesting. Mt. Hood Express, Daisy, Easy Rider, Buttercup and the Ballroom Carpet lifts will operate from 9 AM - 4 PM, providing limited access to lower mountain runs. We plan on continuing daily operations, but the expected storm has yet to materialize, although snow is in the forecast this weekend. Our mountain team has put in a tremendous amount of effort harvesting and moving snow to the trails so we can open Friday.

There’s a 17 inch natural base now supplemented with snow harvesting providing decent coverage for fun, early season turns. However, be aware of hazards and unmarked obstacles. We hope to open more lifts and terrain by the weekend, depending on the weather and conditions.

Meadows will offer freestyle riding in two terrain parks. The Meadows Learning Center will provide lessons for adults and kids, and the rental equipment center will be open. Restaurants include the Alpenstube, Schuss, Fresh Tracks and Higher Grounds. Outer Limits Sports and the High Performance Center will be open.

The Nordic Center is also scheduled to open offering 5 KM of the Sprint Loop and Sahale Falls trails.

Tickets are available with best price guaranteed in our dynamic ticket center:

It’s our intent to open for the season Friday and continue with daily operations – but if the weather or conditions change we’ll keep you updated with any changes at that time.
