The 13th Annual Sno-Kona Pond Skim is a no-go this year due to our current stay-at-home status. That’s a bummer, as this is our favorite event of the entire season. But we’re not going to let a little pandemic prevent us from relishing in the flavor of the Islands, even if it is through celebrating the outrageous costumes, big splashes and smooth style of past Pond Skims.
Post your photos or clips on Instagram or Facebook using hashtags #MtHoodMeadows and #SnoKonaPondSkim and tell us which category or categories you’re submitting to:
• Best Splash
• Best Skimming Style
• Best Costume
• Best Retro Submission (from a Pond Skim 10 years ago or older)
We’ll be accepting submissions through Saturday, May 9, and announce winners Monday, May 11. The winner of each category receives a spot to compete in the 2021 Sno-Kona Pond Skim!
And join us for a special Facebook Live viewing party at 1 PM Saturday, May 2, with scheduled guests KGW Chief Meteorologist Matt Zaffino (who has judged every Pond Skim at Meadows); Bruce Kuper (the Pond Skim King) and Willie Levin Levenson of the Human Access Project. We’ll watch highlights from over the years, celebrate with a Kona Brew or two and rejoice in Pond Skims past.
Now enjoy this collection of photos from Pond Skims over the years, with a special thanks to Kona Brewing!
