U.S. Women’s Ski Team members Lauren Macuga and Emma Resnick talk about their summer training experiences here on Hood. The team is staying at Cooper Spur while training on the Palmer Glacier.
They relate their early years, what attracted them to the mountains and to competitive ski racing. They talk about how valuable summer training is, as it provides focus to work on technique, slow things down and practice the fundamentals.
Winter in the morning and summer in the afternoon - from cliff jumping to volleyball - keeps training fun and interesting.
They learned that perseverance is important to improvement, putting in extra effort and doing what you love all lead towards accomplishing goals.
Thanks to the U.S. Ski Team for providing year-round training and improvement opportunities for the team! And thanks to Lauren, Emma and the rest of the team for their focused commitment and personal drive to improve!
