Meadows will again present summer mountain camps for young people this summer. The four-day camps are designed for young people to immerse themselves, explore, delight in and learn respect for the mountain. Campers build self-confidence and develop positive attitudes by learning to succeed at many new activities. Transportation from the Portland area and Hood River is included.
Mountain Explorer Camp July 11 - 14 & July 18 - 21 (Ages 6 - 10)
This education program is dedicated to fostering a connection between young people and the natural world and will provide the opportunity for participants to learn more about the environment on Mt. Hood including volcanoes, glaciers, waterways, plants and animals. We aim for a mix of environmental education and organized adventures that will give kids the skills and support needed to take their love of the outdoors well into adulthood.
Mountain Adventure Camp July 25 - 28, Aug 1 - 4 & Aug 8 - 11 (Ages 8 - 14)
Structured to provide plenty of active, outdoor-oriented excitement, our experienced staff welcomes kids aged 8-14 years for adventures ranging from a day mountain biking, to mountain hiking, scenic chairlift rides and whitewater rafting. Our adventure-based activities are led by experts with a commitment to safety and an enthusiasm for sharing the outdoors with the next generation of explorers.
