Private and Semi-Private Lessons

Private Lessons – Ages 3 & Up

Regardless of whether you’re a seasoned skier or snowboarder, returning to the sport after a break, or joining us for the first time, you will accelerate your performance by signing up for a private ski, snowboard, or Telemark skiing lesson with one of our highly-qualified professional instructors.

Pick up some great tips and tricks on technique and tactics for skiing the conditions of the day, or for your first-time experience. Private lessons are also ideal for rapid progression because of the individual attention and specific coaching to attain your goals. Private lessons also have front-of-the-line lift access privileges during your lesson!

Available start times are: 9 AM, 10:15 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:45 PM and 2 PM, with lesson durations ranging from 1 to 6 hours.

The one-hour lesson is ideal for those youngest students, with two- to three-hour lessons being the most popular. We recommend at least a two-hour lesson to maximize your day of fun and learning. Your start time may need to be shifted to one of our scheduled start times based on your desired lesson length, ability level, and discipline.

If you have had a great lesson with one of our instructors, be it in a group lesson or otherwise, you may request a private lesson instructor by name. We will do our best to accommodate your request. On your arrival date, please check in at the Private Lesson Reservation desk inside the Sahale Lodge at least 15 minutes prior to your lesson start time. Once you have checked in at the reservation desk, you will meet your instructor out on the snow at the Private Lesson Meeting Area, located on the south side of the Sahale Lodge, just up the slope from the Sahale Lodge sky bridge and main entrance to the Sahale Lodge.

Lift access is not included in the price of the lesson and will be added separately to your lesson order at a discounted rate. This lesson comes with “lift access priority” during the lesson, minimizing wait time at the lifts.

Semi-Private Lessons – Ages 7 & Up:

We encourage you to come to Mt. Hood Meadows as a family, household, or group of friends while learning to ski or snowboard in a semi-private lesson setting. This lesson is available for two to five people ages 7 and older.

Semi-Private Lessons are intended for those who are nearly the same ability level and must be the same discipline (i.e. we cannot mix skiers with snowboarders in the same lesson). Your Semi-Private Lesson of two to five people will be paired up with one instructor for the two-hour minimum lesson duration. This lesson is open to all ability levels – however, coaching and appropriate terrain selection will be based on the least-skilled/lowest-ability level person in the lesson. If you are an expert and want to take a lesson with your beginner-level friends, the lesson content would be catered to the least-skilled in the lesson and would likely be below your ability level. At times, it is possible to coach upper-level skills on easier terrain, however, we do not take lesser-skilled lesson participants on terrain that is too challenging for them. When choosing this product, keep these parameters in mind.

Semi-Private Lessons – Ages 4-6

Semi-private lessons for 4-6-year-olds are great for siblings or friends looking to take a lesson together. This lesson is available for two to three children ages 4-6.

Semi-Private Lessons are intended for those who are nearly the same ability level and must be the same discipline (i.e. we cannot mix skiers with snowboarders in the same lesson). Your Semi-Private Lesson of two to three children will be paired up with one instructor for the two-hour minimum lesson duration.
