To our Sahale Gold Pass Holders:
We trust this message finds you healthy in these unprecedented times. We have spent this week considering options for even just a limited operation. After communicating with our local health authorities, monitoring state and federal social distancing guidance and reviewing all options, we have determined that suspending winter operations for the season is the most responsible action to take. We will leave open the possibility to open for a few weekends in late spring if the stars align but that is not likely at this point.
There are many factors to consider, and we want to assure you that we used our company mission and values to guide our thinking. There is no way we could continue to operate and guarantee we are not contributing to spreading the virus. So we are hunkering down and we urge you to do so as well.
We posted a blog with this information.
While this disruption in operations will affect some capital improvements planned for this summer, we want you to know that due to your support and commitment phase two of the Sahale building will proceed as scheduled. Of course we will honor social distancing in work practices and be subject to any state or federal prohibitions should that occur. Barring those interruptions we are looking forward to the building being ready for next season.
The current viral threat and large gathering ban in the state of Oregon prevents any Sahale member events the rest of this season. Moving forward, as the situation improves, we will plan events for the summer and fall time frames. Hopefully, we will all be able to get together on the mountain soon.
The current situation hasn’t stopped future booking of events in Sahale. We have already been contacted by brides for weddings and meeting planners for conferences beginning in the summer of 2021. If you have any special event or occasion that you are planning for that time frame, let us know, we would love to host you in this awesome space.
Even though we operated for over 100 days we recognize that Sahale pass holders are missing out on some spring skiing or riding they would normally take advantage of. While we are not offering refunds for the missed time we are going to give additional bonus tickets to our Sahale pass holders for the 2020-21 season that you can use to bring friends and family skiing and riding.
We are also pleased to provide you:
- Any unused Bonus or Buddy tickets from the 2019/20 season will be eligible to be used during the 2020/21 season
- Four Unrestricted Bonus tickets for the 2020/21 season instead of two - these are free tickets and can be used any day
- Four Restricted Bonus tickets for the 2020/21 season good on the Value Pass time frame - these are free but are only valid Monday - Friday, or after 2 PM on weekends
- Five Buddy Tickets (same as before) - these are discounted lift tickets that can be used any day
We trust you’ll be able to use these tickets to socialize with friends and make up for lost time and contact that the current social distancing requires. These will be credited to your profile automatically; you don’t need to contact us.
Many of our Sahale pass holders also have Season Lockers. Because of this interruption, we won’t be moving the Season Locker room location this summer, which saddens us as it will be an improvement over the current location. But on the positive side, those who renew their locker by May 31, 2020 will not have to remove their belongings over the summer. We will reach out to Season Locker holders in a separate email.
We appreciate your support of Meadows, and we can’t wait to start providing uplifting experiences to you and to all of our guests, as soon as the situation allows.
Stay healthy - stay vigilant!
And we will see you on the mountain, hopefully soon!
