reVEGETATE

May 1, 2022 (Due to weather forecast, all jams to be held Sunday; details below)

Time: 9 AM - 4 PM
Location: Base Area
Category: Race & Events

reVEGETATE, sponsored by Ninkasi, will pay tribute to the pioneering nature and creative presentations of the original Vegetates. This Rail Jam event will feature some of the best skiers and snowboarders throwing down on a course set up with great viewing from the base area. The format will be a jam session with finals to determine the winners. The event will once again raise money for the Eagle Creek Fire Restoration Fund. Sipping on beers from Ninkasi over the weekend will be tasty and you will be helping the cause, as we will be donating $0.50 from every pint of Ninkasi sold to the Fund.

We will also hold a side competition, and it will be open to anyone who wants to ride. Registration for the Rail Jam will be $40 and is online in advance (men's snowboard, women's snowboard, men's skiers, and women's skiers divisions). Our side competition will be day-of registration and cost $10.

There is $6,000 in prize money up for grabs in the main comp ($750 for 1st, $500 for 2nd and $250 for 3rd), plus trophies for first place. In addition each person on the podium will receive a custom Findlay hat. The side comp will award $500 to riders each day.

Registration has closed. We look forward to seeing everyone up here tomorrow!

Schedule for Sunday, May 1:

  • 7:30 - 8:30 AM: Competitor check-in and bib pickup in the Alpenstube
  • 9:15 - 9:45 AM: Open practice
  • 10 - 10:40 AM: Women Ski and Snowboard
  • 11 - 11:40 AM: Men Snowboard
  • 12 - 12:40 PM: Men Ski
  • 1 - 1:40 PM: Finals for all divisions (top 3 from each division will compete)
  • 2 - 2:30 PM: Side comp - Jibbin' for Jacksons
  • 3 - 3:20 PM: Awards

We will have a DJ spinning to keep the base area vibe going all day (we will also have a DJ on Saturday, along with the vendor village). DJ Kyle is a curator of fun, infectious and upbeat grooves that create a party atmosphere. Kyle grew up in Alaska but has been performing for people in the Mt. Hood area for nearly two decades. The only thing he might love as much as DJing is snowboarding and just being in the mountains.
