Ready to run? Then the Wy'east Howl is for you! Take part in this 50K mountain trail running event from the Hood River Valley to Mt. Hood Meadows. The Wy'east Howl is a point-to-point 50K trail running race from "Valley to Volcano". With its amazing scenery, support and amenities, the event provides a unique and thrilling trail race experience. The course offers all-day views of Wy'east (the native name for Mt. Hood), which gets closer and closer until runners arrive at the race finish ON THE MOUNTAIN-- the only ultramarathon to do so! This is a demanding course offering miles of singletrack trails in a magnificent mountain environment of diverse forests, meadows and waterfalls. Runners begin their race day by parking and checking in at Mt. Hood Meadows, then riding a shuttle bus down to the pastoral Hood River Valley where the race starts. From the beginning, runners will make some mighty ascents and traverse grand ridgelines on their approach to Oregon's most celebrated volcano! Back at Mt. Hood Meadows, we'll celebrate each race finisher's accomplishment together with awards, excellent food, craft beverages, music and fun activities with friends and family.
