Self-Guided Learning Lessons
Come to Mt. Hood Meadows as a family or household unit and stay together while learning to ski or snowboard at your own pace!
The Self-Guided Learning Lesson is for first-time or novice-level students and is designed for anyone who is 7 years of age and older – those between ages 7 and 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also participating in the lesson.
The Self-Guided Learning Lesson takes place at various numbered stations in our base area and Ballroom Carpet learning terrain, where each station introduces a new activity to help you learn to ski and/or snowboard. Each station has an instructor there to introduce the next activity and help you master it so you can graduate to the next station. The “go at your own pace” approach allows you to progress when you’re ready vs. a group lesson setting where everyone moves together at the same pace.
A lift ticket or season pass is required for this product. The Self-Guided Learning Lesson is intended for those just learning to ski or snowboard and for those who are not quite ready for the Buttercup chairlift. If you are already turning and stopping on your own and are comfortable riding the Buttercup chairlift, this lesson is below your ability level. A traditional group lesson would be better suited if you’re already riding the beginner chair lift.
