Sno-Kona Pond Skim
Time: 9 AM-4 PM
Location: Mt. Hood Meadows
Category: Special Events
The 10th Annual Sno-Kona Pond Skim at Mt. Hood Meadows is scheduled for Saturday, April 29! Snowboarders and skiers, get ready to skim your way across 100 feet of frigid water.
Participants will receive one attempt to cross the pond successfully. All participants who successfully skim the length of the pond during the first round qualifiers will advance to the finals, where skimmers can receive a total of 50 points based on three elements:
- Making it across the pond - 10 points
- Costume - 20 points (scale of 1-20)
- Style and crowd response - 20 points (scale of 1-20)
Based on the scoring system it is possible to win the Sno-Kona Pond Skim without making it across the pond in the finals. Judges are encouraged to judge costumes on craftsmanship, creativity and time spent putting the costume together.
There will be prizes for the top competitors as well as best costume, best splash and more!
Music will be provided by Captin's Orders, a super fun surf/pirate band playing from 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
